About

I spent the majority of my life growing up in the small town of Roseburg in southern Oregon. I had never really considered a career in games until the latter half of high school. It had never seemed practical, ironic considering now that I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

After graduating high school, I headed up north to attend the Art Institute of Portland for a degree in game design. For the first few terms, I wasn’t quite sure where I’d find my focus. It was hard for me to find one aspect of game development particularly more appealing than the others. This changed after I started working on level design and creating environments. Top downs are much more appealing to me than they should be to any sane person, and following traffic patterns became more than shaving a few minutes off on the drive across town.

I’m going to spend the last few years of my schooling studying level design and how it can impact the player. There’s nothing like an environment that makes the player go “woah”.
